The Member of Parliament for the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency Hon. Dari Chiwitey Andrew, has opined that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) can never continue to deceive Ghanaians to stay in power.

According to him, the unsavory tactic of deceit used by the NPP prior to the 2016 general elections and the path the party is continuing on will boot them out of power.

He made this comment on Yagbon 98.9Mhz ‘Tea Cup’ on Thursday, June 4, 2020 with host, Abdul Fatawu Diwura saying “Ghanaians can no longer fall to the lies of the NPP”

The MP made this comment in a reaction to a statement issued by the NPP Communication Directorate in the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba Constituency.

Mr.  Wella Emmanuel, the NPP Constituency Communication’s Director in a statement issued, said the MP took to his Facebook wall and announced of a dam project he built for the people of Nyange- kura.

The statement signed by the NPP Communication’s Director, Mr. Wella Emmanuel, said each household within the community was levied to pay an amount of GHc 250.00, and that other members of the community even contributed more than the MP’s support and hence has no right to claim to build a dam for their people .

Why should the MP, after dropping some few gallons of fuel into the project claimed the sweat of the poor constituents who contributed their widow’s might for his own political gains, the statement quizzed.

Mr. Wella who spoke to Abdul Fatawu on Yagbon Radio “Tea Cup” stressed that, “it is unfortunate for a lawmaker to subject his own people to fraudulent act, pure political defilement and rape, and further called on the MP to stop claiming false projects and put the pieces together”.

However, the MP who also spoke on the ” Tea Cup show” said he feels delighted when the needs of his constituents are met .

“The people of Nyange-kura met me last year and asked of my support in a construction of a dam which i supported them with 6 drums of fuel and later gave out money in the payment of the debt owed by the community to the entire completion of the project “, he told Abdul Fatawu.

According to the MP it is rather unfortunate for Mr. Wella to attack his personality on this matter.

The NPP is noted for its deceit and for me am not surprised, said Hon. Andrew.

The MP said the NPP is going round cutting sods to deceive the people of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency which he said they will fail.

Yagbon News spoke to Mr. Meb Sorchiletey a resident of the community and a member of the Dam Committee on this matter and he confirmed that the MP supported the community in the fueling of the bulldozer till the end of the project and paid for the debt that the community was still owing to the constructor.

The MP plays a pivotal role in the completion of the project from fuel purchasing to paying off the constructor, we are therefore grateful to the MP, Mr. Meb of the Dam committee told Yagbon News.
