Parents urged to invest in children’s education.

The Assembly Member for the Chache Electoral Area in the Bole District, Mr Enbong Alim Kuusari, has urged parents and guardians to invest more in the education of their children.

He said quality education called for sacrifice, stressing that investing in the education of the child was necessary to address child delinquency, and other irresponsible behaviour on the part of children who did not have proper upbringing.

Mr Kuusari gave the advice at Jentige during a Parent Teacher’s Association meeting that was held on July 5, 2021, at the Jentige D/A primary school to assess the progress and factors mitigating against the growth of the school.

He said education was a shared responsibility and that a country that failed to develop its people intellectually faced the challenge of opting out of the ‘global village’ where knowledge and transformation were the order of the day.

At the meeting, it was resolved that by the end of July a contribution of GHS10.00 per parent should be completed towards the completion of the construction of a urinal pit for use by the pupils.

A three member committee made up of Mr Konfile Kwesi as chairman and Madam Ama Puore and Mr Bondinuma Mahama as members were tasked to facilitate the collection of the agreed amount.

One other pressing issue that need urgent attention is the need to fix the doors of the classrooms of the school which the Assembly Member asked a carpenter to bring estimates including costs for the fixing of the doors to be used to seek support from benevolent individuals and NGOs.

Mr Kuusari also encouraged parents to save towards their wards education and admonished the school to form cultural group to preserve our cultural heritage.
