The Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency, Banasco Seidu Hudu has said the NPP is not a party that only belongs to a certain section of members within it.

The Party Parliamentary Candidate and Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds stated that tribalism and ethnicity in any form must not be encouraged in the party and should be totally eliminated, as the party seeks to build a formidable and united front towards the next general elections.

He noted that the NPP is not a party for Ashantis alone, and so it would be wrong on the part of any person to divide the party along those tribal lines.

Banasco buttressed that the NPP had its origin from the North with the late S.D. Dombo of Duori in the Upper West Region playing a very pivotal role in the formation of the NPP.

“So you see the NPP is really for us and not for any section of its members as perceived by others ” he stressed.

The Parliamentary Candidate made this declaration at the First Annual Congress of Dagaaba Youth Association in the Sawla District held at Sawla on the theme “Peace and Unity” , the role of DAYA in Community Development.

Banasco, speaking on the theme said it was appropriate as peace and unity are the only tools that can propel development in our various communities.

The Parliamentary Candidate therefore called for unity among all tribes in the constituency as Ghana prepares for another historic elections in December 2020.

The Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency since its creation has being occupied by the NDC of which the NPP has vowed to unseat current Member of Parliament, Hon. Dari Chiwitey Andrew.
