Sawla Will Benefit from Massive Infrastructure Development- President Mahama.

HE. John Mahama on 22 May 2026 promised the good people of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district massive infrastructure development under his watch.

In the welcome address by the Sawla wura Abdulia Nugbaso, made a passionate request to the government to consider sending electricity to some communities and parts of Sawla, stating that electricity remains an essential tool for economic growth.

Again the Chief appeal that the Sawla township road be made a dual road since the increase volume of vehicles and business activities calls for a modern and standard road network to improve safety, reduce congestion and promote economic growth and construction of SHS and TVET schools in the area.

Sawla wura also appealed on behalf of Kong wura ,he said Kong wura respectfully plead with the government to consider the construction of road from Tuna to Kong since it’s a major road for people around the Kong traditional area.

The president of Ghana, H E John Dramani Mahama in response said “the minister of Energy and green transition has assured that constructor has already inspected and are mobilizing to commence the electrification of the entire region”

With regards to roads, John Mahama said ” we are re- scoping face two of the big push Project , several months ago i launched the big push Project and 2000 kilometers of roads around the country are under construction “.

He assured the Kong wura and Kalba wura that their community roads are contained in the big push Project for next year hence it would be captured in the November budget this year.

Again,with regards to TVET, the president assured using world bank program would be used for the construction of a new TVET center in the Sawla district to sale up Technical and Vocational training.

He also mentioned that double track system of education would come to and by the end of 2027 ensuring that schools revert to the old system to increase contact hours with teachers.

In addition, there will be a construction of a stem school to aid students to learn Maths and Science with ease .
