Mr Nojitey Joseph Filmiitey, NDC’s  branch chairman for Tuna West has indicated that the Nana Akufo-Addo led- government, compared to any other government, is an obstacle to development in the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency.

Speaking on Yagbon Radio on Thursday, August 20, 2020, as part of the party’s stance against the compilation of names by the Nasara wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the constituency, he explained that the NPP doesn’t have the right to question electorates on their political parties affiliation’s.

“It is wrong for you to give out your particulars to any political party when the purpose of the data collection remains unknown”, Mr Nojitey indicated.

He advised his party supporters not to allow the NPP to deceive them and hence should not give out their voter’s ID cards details to anyone who comes to their homes.

According to him, the NPP government has lost touch with Ghanaians and hence are doing everything possible to retain power.

“It is impossible for the NPP to win this year’s elections because they have nothing to show, in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, what has the NPP done?”, he quizzed.

Obey, as the branch chairman is known, said as a result of President Akufo-Addo’s attitude, most projects, which are of major benefits to the people, irrespective of political affiliation, in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba have been abandoned, thus, denying the people the right to have improved their living conditions.

Typical example is the Tuna- Kalba road which was started by the NDC but now left unattended to, he indicated.

He added that most Ghanaians are bitterly complaining of this behaviour of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and that it is time it was told to do the right thing to improve the lot of the people, especially those in the rural areas.

He further said there are no limitations to what the President and the government are doing when it comes to neglecting good projects started by the previous government, saying it is really annoying and called on Ghanaians to speak against it.

He said that the constituency witnessed massive development under the NDC ranging from extension of electricity to rural communities, provision of portable drinking water, provision of school blocks, construction of CHPs compounds among others.

“Our MP, Hon. Dari Chiwitey Andrew has worked and provided to his constituents more the NPP government”, said Mr. Nojitey.

According to him the one term MP has donated two ambulances, drilled over ten boreholes, paid hundreds of students school fees, helped communities to put up school blocks, provided computers and mathematical sets to students and dual desks to the Education Directorate among other developmental projects undertaken by the MP.

In his quest to improve the standard of education in the District the MP recently sponsored for a mock examination to be written district wide by BECE candidates, Mr Nojitey indicated.

It’s clear that the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba has benefited immensely from infrastructural development under the NDC government than the NPP government which cannot boast of a single project in the constituency, he indicated.
