HiChale, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), on Monday pledged its continuous support to under privileged persons in society.
The organization holds the view that the less privileged in society also deserves care, and that as part of its social responsibility initiative, it would continue to put smiles on the faces of the poor and needy.
Mr Emmanuel Dery Kuusani, Managing Director for the organisation stated this at its one year anniversary celebration in Kalba.
The anniversary was on the theme: “unity in diversity; celebrating solidarity and fostering peace for sustainable development”.
He said the need for friendship in diversity and solidarity underscores the name Hi Chale adding that they have the main office in Kalba and in collaboration with Wiyala they also operate in Funsi in the Upper West Region.
He mentioned among other achievements including employ and train 36 teachers for 17 schools, initiative to drill boreholes in mheetee- Begin and Kelletee but Baagon has their borehole operating, vocational training for male dominated sector for female girls, social support the renovation of KG in Kalba, support beekeepers in both Kalba area and funsi and a delivery room for funsi health facility among others.
He said they are bedeviled with challenges including funds.
He called on community members to also support to argument the resources of the international friends.
He expressed his gratitude to the chiefs, clubs, media and the people from the various communities for the massive turn up for the activities marking the organization one year anniversary.
In a welcome address, the Board Chairman of HiChale, Hon Sobriety George Kachiir welcomes all invited guests and explained that the occasion is to account to the people what the organisation has done with the resource it harness from international donors adding it is only a year old organization.
He expressed his gratitude to the chiefs, donor partners, the various communities under it’s operations for the quality support for a year.
Speaking on the theme, Mr David Dibaarnye who spoke on behalve of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Director of Education called for a collective and collaborative action in driving positive change within communities.
He said the occasion highlights the importance of fostering peace and development in the District adding that unity and diversity is not a slogan but a principle of our difference and the strength we drive from coming together.
In celebrating the milestone, he said the organization effort to touch almost all sectors of development, they continue to called for support for improving education including supporting them with learning materials, furniture, computers for effective and quality learning.
Kalbawura eulogized the the Executive Director for developing the NGO to that level.
Chief Amalia pleaded with an NGO to support building culverts and a school for Baduyiri.
He lamented how they suffer during raining season.
He expressed his gratitude to the NGO for supporting his community for a sustainable development.
A sod was also cut for a c play ground at the Kalba KG block.
