
The National Security has engaged media persons in the five regions in the northern part Ghana on a day workshop to sensitize them on the need for peaceful broadcasting and journalism at Tamale inside Modern City hotel on the 16th of July 2026.
Addressing the gathering, the Director of Operations at National Security, Major General Ba-Taa Banah states that this is an opportunity to build stronger relationships between the state authorities and the media fraternity.
He said”we have a common objective, that is to live in peace and security but the provision of peace and security is a collective responsibility each one has a role to play in the current security and peace we enjoy in the country “.
He stressed that the peace we enjoy today is a product of several initiatives and efforts by the government,law enforcement agencies,citizens and the media at large therefore the desire to work on improving the the level of security in the country today cannot be done the media.
Additionally,he applauded the media on how far they’ve championed the see something….say something campaign therefore he urged the media to continue to propagate the see something….say something which final objective is ensuring that we all live in a peaceful and secured state .
Also addressing the media was Dr Natie Adams a resource person and a facilitator emphasized on the need for media persons to use headlines free of panic and fear to the public,the need to confirm better still fact check our stories before publication to help promote peace and avoid violence.
