Residents of Duume, a suburb of Sawla in the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District were thrown into a state of shock over the alleged murder of a woman by her husband, in cold blood, on Monday dawn.
Yikaatey Sowmatey husband, was reported to have murdered his wife Buoraa in between Nyanyama and Goondo in the outskirts of Tuna.
Yagbon News gathered that the suspect convinced the wife to accompany him to Nyanyama to get themselves traditional medicine.
On the way to Nyanyama to get the traditional medicine, the man then allegedly murdered his wife.
The couple, both farmers are reported to have been married for years.
The man after committing the heinous act run to Nyanyama to report himself and led community members to the scene.
An eyewitness who spoke to Yagbon News, said the man confirmed committing the crime on the basis that his wife has been cheating on him.
The news of the death of Buoraa brought a large crowd to the scene, who wanted to catch a glimpse of the body, while family members were seen wailing, an eyewitness narrates.
According to the eyewitness a cutlass, powdered pepper and a cartridge were found at the scene of the incident.
The Sawla- Tuna – Kalba Divisional Commander, ASP Degrapht Armah Agyei, confirmed the tragedy to the Yagbon News.
ASP Armah, said the suspect of about 60 years has been arrested and kept in their custody to assist in investigations.
He said the deceased, 57 years has been conveyed to the Sawla District Hospital for an autopsy which revealed the woman suffered severe head injury.
The body has been released to the family for burial.
ASP Armah said investigations into the case were ongoing.
