Hon. Yussif Sulemana (Ori), Member of Parliament for Bole- Bamboi constituency in the Savannah Region, has called on residents to collaborate with the District’s health workers to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The fight against the novel coronavirus he said, needs a concerted effort to win, thus the need for all to support frontline health workers and others to stem its spread.

The MP said this when he presented assorted items worth GH¢ 35,940.00 to the Bole District Health Directorate on May, 19, 2020, at his residence to help stave off the virus spread.

The items included 20 sets of Veronica buckets, 4000 pieces of nose masks, 12 rolls of tissues, 970 hand sanitizers, 20 dustbins and 4000 pieces of examination gloves.

He urged residents to adhere to the World Health Organization’s safety protocols of social distancing, regular hand washing with soap under running water, and avoid social gatherings among others.

The MP added that, he has contracted tailors in the District to produce more face masks to be distributed to residents who are in dire need in our communities.

The MP said the logistics committee which is under the the District Public Health Emergency Committee tasked of mobilising resources to fight the virus has written letters to some individuals in and out of the District to support the District in the fight against the virus.

He therefore called on everyone within the District to contribute their quota to the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

This is the third time the MP has donated items worth thousand Ghana cedis towards the fight against covid-19 in the District .

Mr. David Bakuri, the District Health Director, was grateful to the MP for the support, saying the items arrived at the right time as they were running out of stock.

He said his outfit was educating the people in various communities on the dangers of the pandemic and the need for them to observe safety health protocols.

Effective May, 20, 2020, any person entering any health facility within the Bole District must wear a face mask or else you will not be allowed entry”Mr. David stressed.

The District Director also urged residents to support the logistics committee under the Public Health Emergency Committee with the necessary tools to enable them nip the virus into its bud.
