ICT systems launched in Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District.

NASCO Feeding Minds, in collaboration with YAHSAT and CISCO had launched an ICT systems in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of Savannah Region in line of Government’s agenda of improving ICT literacy in Ghana.

NASCO Feeding Minds since 2012 has established eleven computer labs in the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District of which eight are currently connected to internet.

Addressing a gathering of chiefs, heads of department and agencies, an engineer of CISCO Mr Donald De Witte said their focus is to build a digital age in ICT for the future generation.

He said in this project CISCO Spent an amount $110,000 and assured the people of the District that they will establish a company to create employment for the teeming youth in the District.

Nugbaso Abdulaih, chief of Sawla said he is grateful to NASCO Feeding Minds and its partners for this life changing opportunity.

He said in this 21st century, if you are educated without ICT, it looks as if you are not educated at all and assured the NGO that their facilities will be properly utilize.

Addressing the media, the Executive Director of NASCO Feeding Minds and immediate past Parliamentary candidate for NPP in the constituency said the computer literacy is a project that seeks to improve the knowledge of students in the field of ICT.

He said the project comes with a lot of opportunities as student Will have the opportunity to connect with their colleagues across the globe as the NGO seeks to make Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District an ICT hub in the country.

NASCO Feeding Minds Collaborated with CISCO that provided hard ware infrastructure and YAHClick an operational unit of YAHSAT provide the internet connection while NASCO Feeding Minds provided the computers.

Beneficiary institutions included D/A junior, St Cyprin Minor serminary,Tuna cluster of schools, Sawla community ICT center, Tuna Sec Tech., Nahari, Jintilpe, Kulmasa for first phase of the project.
