The Member of Parliament (MP) for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency in the Savannah Region, Hon. Shaibu Mahama has officially cut sod for the commencement of works on Community toilet facilities in Daboya to help solve the sanitation related issues within the Daboya town.
Kasatodong area would be the first to benefit from this initiative.
This project is in fulfilment of a promise the lawmaker made to the people of kasatodong upon their request during his usual visit to the area.
Speaking at the programme, the lawmaker for the area expressed worry about the fact that majority of the people of Daboya lack access to toilet facilities and that, it was responsible for the incidence of open defecation among the people.
The initiative, he said, was to promote a healthy atmosphere by keeping the environment as clean as possible for sustainable development.
The Hon. Member has also identified Zongo and Limampeas as the next areas to benefit from this initiative within the Daboya community.
With him to do the sod-cutting ceremony was chief Nterewura, the two assemblymen for Daboya West and East, Hon. Baba and Hon. Issahaku Gyan, former assemblyman for Bawena electoral area, Hon. Seidu Sumani, the curent assemblyman for Bawena electoral area, Hon. Yahuza, NDC constituency executives, and some elders and opinion leaders of the area were present.
