Sawla Children’s Home in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region on Saturday, 26th December, 2020 received food items and sanitaries from a philanthropic group by name Enhancing Lives to mark the celebration of Christmas and Boxing Day.

Enhancing Lives is an all social inclusive group which was established in August, 2020, to help in the reduction of unemployment worldwide.

Mr. Seidu Jeremiah who hails from Bole and the Director of Jaksally Development Organisation, a non- profiting Organisation, presented food items and sanitaries such as bags of rice, oil, tins of tomato paste, boxes of biscuit, boxes of chicken, curtains of soft drinks, soap, sanitary pads and a host of others which amount to thousands of Ghana cedis to the Sawla Children’s Home on behalf of Enhancing Lives with the motive of making the less privileged who find themselves in the orphanage to feel included in the celebration of Christmas.

Mr. Seidu Jeremiah while relating his personal experience encouraged children of the home not to feel deprived but to be motivated by their fate to work hard to achieve higher heights in the society.

Speaking to the children he said, “I lost all hopes when my sole dependant who was my grandmother called Mantenso died when I was just 13 years of age. Though life became tough but I went beyond all stumble blocks of life to make it up to this level and I want you to be people of self-worth and to master courage through hardwork to be better people in the near future”.

Mr. Seidu Jeremiah noted that he is ever ready to attend to the problems of the home and he shall lobby through colleagues and other organizations to see to the development of the home.

He also promised to host children from the home who are in the various tertiary institutions in his organization to do their attachment and if possible help them to get employed.

He appealed to the management of the home to have some of the children to spend holidays with him and his family in Tamale and then wished children of the home a belated Merry Christmas, a happy Boxer’s day and a prosperous New year.

Receiving the items on behalf of the management of the home, Pastor Emmanuel Danka, expressed his profound gratitude to the family of Mr. Seidu Jeremiah, Jaksally and Enhancing Lives for their support to the home this festive season.

Pastor Emmanuel Danka noted that they have children from the home who are in various tertiary institutions of the country with others serving in their own capacities to the development of Ghana of which the first Savannah regional GMB contestant Kasha is also a proud product of the Sawla children’s home.

Pastor Emmanuel Danka further admonished other organizations and stakeholders to emulate the kind gesture of Mr. Seidu Jeremiah, Jaksally and Enhancing Lives to come to the aid of the home since they have other pressing needs.
