As the issue of coronavirus pandemic escalates in the country, the Member of Parliament for the Bole- Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yussif Sulemana (Ori) has entreated residents in his constituency to take their health seriously as the deadly disease continue to cause a scare.
According to him residents and Ghanaians should go by the directives given by health practitioners as he believes these are the only preventive measures to end this deadly pandemic.
“Social distancing is very important in times like this. As individuals, we need to isolate ourselves from each other thereby avoiding crowded places. Therefore, if one has no business outside, I would advise him or her to stay indoors.
It’s difficult to tell if a friend or a family member has the virus and you going out will expose you to a lot of people”, he said.
Hon. Yussif made the appeal at his residence today April 14, when he procured additional sanitary items to compliment his earlier donation of sanitary items for the constituency valued at 45,000.00 Ghana cedis.
Hon. Yussif told Yagbon News in an interview that the earlier donation could not reach all the areas in the district and he has therefore secured an additional 30 Veronica buckets, soap , sanitizers and tissues to be placed at vantage points in the district to encourage hand washing in a bid to fight against the virus.
Hon. Yussif added, “I will entreat residents to wash their hands with soap under running water and also sanitize their hand after doing so.
Also one should avoid being all touchy when they meet friends or relatives.”
The MP also appealed to the DCE to use her good office to liaise with all Assembly Members in the District to mount surveillance along the unapproved routes which borders with Cote d’ voire.
” We all need to support in this fight because the immigration alone cannot monitor all the unapproved routes in our district ,” the MP noted.
Ghana is among many other countries in the world battling with the novel coronavirus.
