Center for Democratic Development in collaboration with Parents in Participatory Development, has sensitized students of the Bole Senior High School, on the need to be security conscious.
The NGOs tasked the students on the need to be conversant with their environment in order to detect and report strange persons and objects to their teachers or School management for prompt action before disaster hits.
Speaking at the program, the Bole SHS Headmaster commends CDD-Ghana and PAPADEV for organizing such a program for the students.
He added it will help educate them on how to be security conscious and also take their personal security into their hands.
The project officer for PAPADEV, Niyoro Lord Andrews entreated citizens especially the ladies not to give vital information to strangers or people they don’t know.
He said, the project has come at the right time and it has made alot of impact.
” I remember one community, after the sensitization they saw a stranger walking in the community and they had to report the stranger to the police and the police deported him back to his country (Burkina Faso). So the project has come to help us alot”.
The Police Commander for Bole, DSP Benjamin Bustin says the project will go a long to teach not only the students but the nation as a whole on how to access information, how to come closer to the security agencies with whatever they have.
He said, “it’s very important for each and every one to understand his or her environment to be extra vigilant and alert on security related matters.
