The Member of Parliament for Bole- Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana (Ori), has pulled the Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, to Parliament over the delay in commissioning of the Bamboi polyclinic after its completion.
Hon. Yusif through a parliamentary question wanted to Know when the health facility would be commissioned to help improve health care delivery in the area.
“Mr. Speaker, I want to ask Minister for Health when the Bamboi polyclinic will be commissioned after its completion”, the Bole- Bamboi lawmaker asked.
Minister’s response.
In response, the Minister for Health acknowledged that the Bamboi polyclinic have been completed and hoped it would be commissioned by the end of July.
According to the minister,the polyclinic is practically completed and staff for the facility are undergoing training.
The MP further quizzed the sector minister whether he is aware there is not water at the facility and also tried to find out whether water was part of the entire scope of the project.
He minister explained that, inclusion of water in such projects is something they normally do but cannot tell of the Bamboi polyclinic.
He added that he has to cross check to ascertain the stand of the Bamboi polyclinic as far as the inclusion of water is concerned.
Hon. Nii Edwin Lante Vanderpuye, member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency seemed not pleased with the answer the sector minister gave as he argued that without water the health facility cannot operate.
Tamale North MP, Hon. Alhasaan Suhuyini, expressed dissatisfaction about a similar facility that was commissioned at Tolon in August last year and yet not put into use and hoped same will not be of the Bamboi polyclinic when commissed by the end of July as said by the minister.
