The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana on Friday, October 14, 2022, donated 1,180 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates in the constituency with a call to them to be dedicated to studies.
The stationery is to help the candidates sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate (BECE) to write the exams successfully.
This year’s BECE begins on Monday 17 October to 22 October 2022.
Mr Iddisah Tahiru Omega, the Bole-Bamboi Deputy Communication Officer and spokesperson to the MP,presented the items on behalf of the parliamentarian to the education directorate.
Omega noted that the gesture formed part of measures by the MP to ensure the candidates did not lack basic learning inputs required for the examination.
He added that it also formed part of the parliamentarian’s commitment towards the growth of education and using the same to empower school children within the area.
Omega urged the candidates to focus on their studies to excel in the examination.
He further charged the students to be responsible and refrain from activities that will distract their attention from their studies.
The District Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Yahaya Sulemana, receiving the mathematical sets said he was grateful to the Parliamentarian for the gesture.
He noted that the intervention was timely, adding his commitment towards improving education in the District was commendable.
He assured judicious distribution of the mathematical sets to the students to offset the burden on parents and guardians.
Mr Sulemana also emphasized the need for the candidates to be studious, urging them to put in hard work in order to come out with good results to help them continue their education.
