Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), under the Ministry of Trade and Industry has organised a capacity building workshop for players in export commodity in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.
This formed part the national Export Development strategy program to expose Ghanaian products through value chain players in export.
The workshop through the Trades Ministry of GEPA is in collaboration with Standard Authority, FDA, AFCFTA .
In a welcome address madam Veronica Alele Hemeng, District Chief Executive for Bole said she is glad to host such an important program in her District.
She said her District is a hub of cashew, Shea, yam, groundnut among other crops and optimistic this program will expose her District to the world with such an opportunity.
She said furniture and all the things are ready for Bole factory except the machine for the actual processing which she said Bole will do a lot of magic in the free trade area in the African market.
Veronica admonished participants to take interest in the program to develop Bole District in the export market.
Mr Yakubu Yussif, a specialist at the coordinating office of the Africa Free Continental Trade Area (AFCFTA) said African market is worth 1.2bn people of $3.4bn GDP but to benefit from this export one must employ some innovations to benefit from these export opportunities
He said that is the the reason for exporters to be given the needed capacity building on procedure and innovation of benefiting from the AFCFTA.
The officer in charge of Northern, North- East and Savannah Region Seidu Saaka Bakari said this area has a lot of export opportunities including groundnut, Shea, cashew among others.
He however outlined on how to register one’s business, how to maximize yield and innovative plan to stay in the export market.
