The Member of Parliament for Sawla- Tuna-Kalba Constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, has called for an enhanced collaboration between members of the legislature and the District Assemblies, particularly the District Chief Executives for accelerated national development.
In his view, DCE’s must see members of Parliament as partners in development, arguing that, “we are to complement each other to bring rapid development to the people of Ghana”.
As an MP, Hon. Andrew told Yagbon News, that he believed in Ghana first, even though he belonged to the National Democratic Congress , and stressed the importance of working in unity in diversity.
According to the MP for Sawla-Tuna- Kalba, it is wrong for some DCE’s to perceive some MP’s, especially those from the opposing political camps, as enemies of progress and could delay the release of their common funds unduely and, thereby, slowing down the pace of development.
He added that development has no political colour and hence all must work together to ensure the growth of the country.
The MP made this known during a commissioning of a small town water system at Tuna by 4 WARD Development West Africa.
Hon. Andrew said for the country to make inroads in the national development agenda, all stakeholders must complement one another in the development process.
He therefore called for a public- private partnership so that communities can benefit from various developmental initiatives.
The MP commended the NGO, 4 WARD Development West Africa for putting up potable driving water for communities such as Blema, Kulmasa, Gindabor and Tuna in his constituency.
According to the MP Sanyeri, Nakwabi, Jentilpe and Soma will soon equally benefit from the 4 WARD Development West Africa water project.
