The Bole District Directorate of the National Commission For Civic Education has organised a community dialogue series dubbed Police Community Dialogue in Nyimange.

The dialogue forms part of the EU funded program on Prevention and Containing Violence Extremism.

Addressing participants at the dialogue series the District Director of NCCE, Mrs Konlan Margaret admonished citizens to co-exist peacefully with one another.

Margaret stated that undermining one’s cultural, religious and political beliefs leads to unacceptable conflicts.

Violent extremist she said always take advantage of such disgruntles to cause a lot of mayhem.

She added by saying these extremist groups are already operating 22 kilometers away from Bole at Ivory coast, Burkina Faso, Mali, Nigeria among others.

She said we can only prevent their activities through peaceful co-existence and awaking the conscience of our youth to stay away from their influence.

The Bole District Police Commander, ASP Emmanuel Annan said the work of the police is a collaborative effort.

According to the commander, the Districts in the Northern sector are vast as compared to the southern sector.

With the influx of violence extremists in the vast border Districts like this couple with the fact that less police personnel deployed I can only call for collaboration to fight crime.

Commander Annan states that the biggest security issue so far in his jurisdiction is highway robbery and effort are in place to curtail their activities .

On the issue of strange murders in town, ASP Annan assured the residents of Bole to go about their normal duties as leadership of the police are handling the matter.

Addressing the media the Savannah Regional Director of NCCE Mr Issaka Zitor said the program is to give community members to learn ways to fight violence extremism .

He said the program is in eight regions that include five regions of the North,Oti and the Bono Region.

He said they believe that with this dialogue there will be peace in our various communities.
