Chache electoral area residents urged to keep their surroundings clean.

The in charge of the Chache CHPs compound, in the Bole District of the Savannah Region has urged residents in the area to work together towards keeping the area clean and healthy.

According to him, residents should ensure their immediate environs are cleared of filth to improve upon sanitation in the area.

He underscored the need for the residents in the area to be educated on keeping their environment clean to promote good health.

The in charge made this known on November 22, 2021, when the Chache health facility organised a community durbar for Jentige community on the need to avoid home delivery by pregnant women and sensitization on yellow fever outbreak.

Speaking at the event , the in charge for the Chache CHPS compound took turns to speak about the outbreak of yellow fever.

He listed the causes, some symptoms and ways of prevention.

He admonished residents on the need to weed around our homes and charged the Assembly Member and the community Chief to take up the initiative to ensuring that backyards are weeded.

The midwife of the Chache health facility gave a talk on the need to deliver at the hospital especially the Chache CHPS compound since it will help promote the facility and her work.

She touched on the dangers associated with home delivery and encouraged Traditional Birthday Assistants (TBAs) to refer women in labor to the health facility when they report to them at the community level.

The Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Alim Kuusaari Ebong also proposed that all pregnant women in labor be delivered at the Chache CHPS compound to promote the facility.

He thanked Zakat Foundation of America for the swift response by donating a motor king ambulance to the Chache CHPs compound to improve health delivery.

The Assemblyman noted that the motoking ambulance handed over to the facility will aid in the transportation of referred severe cases to higher facilities.

In attendance at the durbar were the in charge for Mandari zone, the health promotion officer for Bole District, a Public health nurse, nurses of the Chache health facility, the volunteer for Zakat Foundation of America for Mandari zone.
