The Local Council of Churches at Sawla in the Savannah Region on Sunday 15th August 2021, honoured three (3) Men of God who had served the council for a period of time.

The Sawla Local Council of Churches is an ecumenical body of Christ with twenty-three (23) churches as members of the council.

The appreciation and farewell ceremony which were held at the Grace Assemblies of God at Sawla was in honour of Pastor Peter Kowietey Tunjie (Bethel Prayer Ministry, Sawla) who served as the Council’s immediare past Chairman from the year 2016-2020 and Pastor Nicholas Fiannaa (Fountain Gate Chapel) who also served as the Council’s immediate past Organiser from the year 2016-2020.

Concurrently, Apostle William Ohemeng-Kwakye (Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Sawla) who has been transferred from Sawla to Accra was also honoured farwwelled for his contribution to the council and his numerous social interventions in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District through The Church of Pentecost.

Speaking at the occasion, the current chairman Rev. Isaac Edmund Kofi Addison who doubles as the Reverend Minister of Methodist Church for Sawla Circuit entreated Ministers not to project the name of the devil and witches in our church services but the name and power of Christ should be exhorted to the highest utmost.

He stressed that, the devil and challneges have no power and authority over the believer, hence, the power of God at work in our dispensation should be highlighted over the witches which seems to take over church services in some churches of our days.

He concluded that, the Christian is victorious through the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. He referred his scripture support from Numbers 13:25-33 and 14:1-10.

The honourees were awarded citation for their services.

In attendance were Hon. Isaac Kipo, the representative of Hon. Andrews Chiwitey Dari (MP, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency) and Ministers and Wives and members of the Sawla Local Council of Churches.
