Two distinguished officers of the Ghana Federation of Volleyball namely Mr Iddrisu Baba, the National Team manager who doubles as a board member of the federation and Mr Benjamin Tettey, the Technical Director are on a two-day working visit to the Bole District.

The two volleyball veterans together with the national president of the Ghana Federation of Volleyball had scheduled their visit to concide with the 4th edition of the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Gala at Mandari on 28th June, 2021 but had to reschedule the visit to 4th July,2021 due to the fact that they were in Morocco with the beach volleyball team for Olympic qualifiers.

Having only arrived Sunday dawn of July 4th, Mr Baba and his abled technical director quickly moved to the Bole Volleyball Court to witness two friendly matches and some exhibition games.

They watched Safe Sets Ladies from Tamale beat Simariyiri 2-1 and the Safe Sets men beat Bole Volleyball Legends three sets to two.

They also watched an under 13 exciting exhibition game between Seripe Mighty Fingers and Mandari Ball Busters.

After watching a scintillating encounter between the two finalists of the just ended gala at Mandari, the two experienced men of the game proceeded to present medals to deserving winners of the tournament Madari last week.

Mandari Boys and Simarayiri girls received gold medals for winning their respective categories whiles Seripe Boys and Mandari Girls were given silver as losing finalists. Simarayiri boys and Dabouyiri girls who finished third in the boys and girls competition respectively also received bronze medals.

The four obviously excited teams were given a quality standard new volleyball each.

Mr Baba and Mr Tettey later met with the coaches of the Bole District Juvenile clubs.

The coaches of the ten teams based in five communities led by thier hardworking organising Secretary Mr Osman Issahaku, told the officers that lack of proper materials for the game is the main challenge confronting all teams.

In response, the National Team manager promised to support the teams because they are capable of producing future national team players.

Having been convinced by the output of the players who took part in the exhibition games, the two retired players and public servants though haven’t rested since arriving in Bole, set off to visit Dabouyiri and Simarayiri to see for themselves where some of the talents are being natured.

They would pay similar visits to Mandari, Seripe and Maluwe the next day.
