Ghana Productive Safety Net rolls out employable skills training to empower women in Bole District.

Ghana Productive Safety Net Project, formally of Ghana Social Opportunities Project (GSOP) , has rolled out employable skills training to empower and enhance the socio-economic livelihoods of 152 women in the Bole District.

The beneficiaries were trained in soap making, rearing of small animals and groundnut processing.

The DCE, made this known on May 26, 2021, when she handed over assorted items and equipment to the beneficiaries to enable them venture into income generating activities.

The women took delivery of equipment depending on the area of which one is trained on.

Some of the items and equipment given to the women included pots, frying pans tarpaulins ,150 litres plastic containers, metal basins, metal buckets, baskets, 4 litre rubbers, measuring bowls, stirring sticks, laddles, rolling boards,
Soap cutting machines, hydrometers palmoil, hand gloves roofing zinc, bags of cement among others.

Under the training, the District Chief Executive of the area, Hon. Veronica Alele Heming explained that trainers moved from community to community to ensure that many women benefited to enhance their living conditions.

The women were drawn from Taanlekoraa, Sonyo and Pumping gbong area in Bole.

The DCE expressed concern about the high level of unemployment and poverty in the area, and expressed the hope that beneficiary women would be serious with the training acquired to provide employable skills to help alleviate their plight.

Madam Veronica stressed that employable skills training remained the surest strategy for wealth creation and poverty reduction in rural communities and urged all the beneficiaries to make good use of the packages given to them to better their living conditions.
