The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly has held its first general assembly since the appointment of the new DCE for the area.
The meeting was held on November 7, 2025, to discuss the action plan of the assembly for the 2026 action year.

The Presiding Member, extend his appreciation to his colleagues the Honorable Members and the dedicated staff of the Assembly for their continued hard work, commitment and cooperation in advancing the developmental agenda of the District.
Hon. Alhaji also appeal to chiefs and traditional leaders within the district to continue to promote peace and harmony, particularly in the aftermath of the Gbiniyiri land dispute between the Gonjas and Brifors.
Conflicts only undermines development and drains the scarce resources of the Assembly, peace remains the cornerstone of progress and he urge all stakeholders to work together in preserving it for the benefit of our people.
Speaking at the meeting Hon. Sikina Daaka, the DCE expressed gratitude to the president and assembly member for hid appointment and approval.
On Education, the DCE, noted that the National School Feeding Program is one of the flagship programs by the central government to increase enrollment in the public schools across the country, hence as part of resetting agenda he is happy to report that under the expansion of the National School Feeding Programme the district got additional 23 schools bringing the total number of beneficiary schools to 47 in the district, he believe it would increase enrollment in the schools and he will continue to lobby with government for more schools to be added to the programme in coming days.
The DCE added that the assembly has handed over 1,000 metal dual desk to the district education directorate for onward distribution to schools, this intervention aims at addressing the furniture deficit in the schools and to provide a more conducive environment for learning.
Touching on Internal Generated Funds (IGF), he mentioned that management has endeavored to uphold fiscal discipline in the management of the Assembly finances. For the 2025 financial year, the assembly projected mobilize ghc 620,000.00 as (IGF) and however as at the end of September only ghc 524,172.00 has been realized represent 84.5%.
Hon Sikina, presented a report of the Executive Committee’s recommendation for further consideration and approval, management should complete the renovation of the District Director of Agric’s bungalow, the slaughter House should be properly constructed and supervised to ensure that quality meat is made available for public consumption, all public toilets across the district should be renovated and place under the care Area Councils so that can generate revenue for the assembly, new CHPS compound be built in communities such as Seekura,Jang, Dineer and Nyanyama,
Boreholes be constructed in Jenkaa, Lawutey, Kulwung, Lemitey and Davambele,. School Feeding Programme to be expanded so that every electoral area get at least two schools.
All uncompleted projects in the following communities be completed, Soma CHPS Compound, Poru CHPS Compound, Yipala RC JHS, Nyanyama Primary School, Jang JHS and Basintey school block
On road network, the Committee calls for urgent attention to the following roads. Kawie-Dineer, Kante kura road, Kawie-Dagbigu road, Kalba-Saru, Gbiniyiri road, Sawla-Gbeniyiri road, Gbiniyiri-Mukura road, Gbiniyiri -Kpali road, Gbiniyiri -Sanyari road, Gando-Gbegu feeder road, Tuna-Nyanyama feeder road, Yipala-Bobalanyuro road, Tuna-Bale road, Dakymplayiri-Sagbanyiri road, Kalba-Gakuon road, Gbonkoyiri-Kulmasa road, Kulmasa-Sasayiri-Lasiyiri road, Kulmasa-
