The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Bolewura Sarfo Kutugefeso (l) has on Saturday, September, 2025 marked this year Damba.

The theme for this year’s Damba is “Celbrating a tradition of trust for peace and development through the

Kutuge Feso Science and Maths quiz championship,”

In a speech read on his behalf by his secretary, said the land in Bole Traditional Area belongs to the Gonja Traditional Authority, and as the Paramount Chief of Bole Traditional Area, he remain the custodian and the allodial title owner to all lands within the area jurisdiction and this truth is not to divide us, but to preserve order and respect for tradition.

Bolewura made it clear that, Gonjaland seeks peace, Bole seeks peace, not conflict and so we invite dialogue, not confrontation, but those who deliberately sow discord must face the law, for peace cannot thrive without justice and let us all, therefore, choose cooperation over conflict, and reconciliation over division, for only through peace can prosperity and development be secured.

In this light, I humbly draw our collective attention to Nyange, the sacred

home of Gonja kingdom, though it remains the ancestral and spiritual heart

of our people, its palace and surrounding infrastructure have fallen into disrepair.

“I therefore join hands with the overloard of Gonja Yagbonwura Biikunuto Jawu

Soale appeal to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama President of the Republic of Ghana to consider the rebuilding of Nyange as a lasting legacy project, one that will honour our ancestors, safeguard our history, and inspire future

generations” he said.

As directed by our Overloaded during the just ended Yagbon Damba in Damongo, that all settlers on Nyange land to relocate within the shortest possible time, so that the sanctity and cultural heritage of this sacred ground may be preserved for posterity.

Bolewura also appeal to the interior minister to consider lifting the curfew imposed in Bole, Sawla, Tuna and Kalba Townships for us.

The current state of the roads in Bole (President Home Town) is poor, with areas such as Jakala, Mempeasem, Green Valley, Hill Top, Pagapa, Sawaaba has narrow lanes, lack of proper drainage and no access roads.

This not only causes frequent disruptions to daily commuting but also poses safety risks to pedestrians and vehicles alike. During the rainy season, the narrow roads

becomes impassable, which exacerbates the inconvenience for everyone.

A well-constructed roads network in the town would significantly improve the

quality of life in the area, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and contribute to the

overall development of Bole, additionally, it would help boost local businesses

and create a safer environment for pedestrians and motorists.

Hon. Yusif Sulemana speaking on behalf of His Excellence John Mahama, stated that last year John Mahama made some promises before 2024 elections and his going to fulfill all those promises.

The president mentioned that the road from Bamboi to Wa has been given to a contractor by name Ali Marapoma and very soon the contractor will be visiting the Bolewura and his elders to seek permission and to start the work.

The president added that the same contractor is supposed to construct the Chache -Mandari – Bole road and also the Bole township roads.

John Mahama noted that in the area of education Bole SHS is going to get massive infrastructure development.

144 communities In Bole are to be connected to the national Grid

The president also promised to build a brand new hospital for the good people of Bole and it environment
