The Overlord of the Gonja kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale (I) on Tuesday 12th September 2023, was sworn in as the president of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs at Jakpa palace in Damongo, the Savannah Regional capital.
Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale I in his speech delivered by Kpembewura Bambage Ndefuso on behalf of the Yagbonwura said he will dispense justice to all and sundry in his jurisdiction based on truth and without fear or favor, hatred or ill-will but in line with the law.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale mentioned that the rapid socio-economic development of the Savannah Region is anchored on peace and security.
So it is therefore an assurance to the minister and the region that the traditional authority will do everything possible to maintain the peace the area is enjoying especially in matters affecting chieftaincy.
Jira Yagbonwura said ” my administration has come to promote the customs and tradition, project unity, peace and general development of the Savannah Region and this can be achieved on the principle of trust and faith, perseverance and justice delivery, he said”.
The king also added that the Savannah Region House of Chiefs will be second to none if we put actionable behaviors in implementing the decisions of the House, and the success of the House is dependable on our unity, love for roles assigned every chief of the House and sincerity in discharging responsibilities.
High court judge, His Lordship Justice Eric Ansah Ankomah took the Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale I through the Oath.
Presence at the Jakpa palace to witness the swearing in are the Savannah Regional Minister, chiefs and queen mothers and Gonjas’ across the globe.
