
The Bole District Hospital, has held a day’s stakeholder and consultative engagement on the roadmap for the implementation of government’s Free Primary Health Care policy in the District.
The Free Primary Health Care (FPHC) policy is a government flagship initiative aimed at accelerating the attainment of Universal Health Coverage in Ghana.
The policy sought to ensure that all Ghanaians had access to essential, quality primary health care services without incurring out-of-pocket expenses at the point of care.
It also represented a strategic shift in the country’s health care delivery system from a predominantly curative approach to one that prioritised disease prevention, health promotion, and community-based care.
Speaking at the event,The chairperson Miss Amankwah Asana(Development and Planning Officer at the Bole District Assembly l) representing the District Chief Executive in her address said “basically the engagement is under what the free primary health care is about and the road map to its implementation,so the main aim of the Free Primary health care is to extend health care to all citizens on a no cedis account”.
The free primary health care initiative has been implemented in 150 Districts and Bole District is privileged to be one therefore she entreat every individual to be part of it .
Also the District Health Director Mr Dubik Daniel Dindiok in his speech stated that” it’s a government program ensuring that basic health care delivery is available to everyone . The objective is that by 2030 every one and every should at least have basic health care at their doorsteps”.
