The Frontier’s Mission Network, a charitable arm of the Zion Community Church, has presented various items and cash to the Operation Smiles Orphanage in Nakwabi in the Sawla -Tuna- Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The Founder of the NGO, Reverend Dr Moses Sansa Konjon “Nchuwura”, said the donation was in fulfilment of the foundation’s mission to lessen the burdens of the less privileged in the society.
It is also to alleviate the woes of the vulnerable inmates at the orphanage.
The items donated included bags of rice and cash geared towards alleviating the plight of the inmates at the orphanage.
Rev. Dr Sansa said, “the pulpit is not the only way to serve God but extending a helping hand to the less privileged also constitutes service to God.”
According to him, he was inspired by the biblical injunction to care for the poor and vulnerable in society, while pledging the church’s continuous support for the children.
He encouraged other religious bodies, corporate organisations and philanthropists to support orphanages.
He commended his donor partners both in Ghana and the Diaspora for their support, praying for God’s blessings for them.
Receiving the items, Rev. Sister Jane (Mama J), founder of Operation Smiles, expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the intervention as a timely answer to prayer at a time when the orphanage is struggling after the withdrawal of its main donor.
She revealed that the orphanage, which has cared for vulnerable children for over seventeen years is currently facing significant financial challenges.
She however, remains confident that God will continue to raise individuals and organizations to support them.
