The SAWLA VIEW LODGE has set the pace of igniting the passion for football in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District by rolling out a program to engage football Teams in gala matches on festive and commemorative days every year with the maiden edition beginning on this year’s Founder’s Day.
Six(6) teams from the Sawla Township participated in the first edition from 4th to 6th August 2022. The participating Teams were : Samba FC, KTC, HEALTH FC, Palace FC, DBC FC and Boresa FC.
The numerous motivations attached to the competition made it highly competitive for all Teams that converged at the Chief Palace park. All Most Valuable Players (MVPs) had the opportunity of enjoying a luxury of one night accommodation and meals at Sawla View.
Several awards were received by Teams, Players and officials. In all, Samba boys FC were crowned Champions with DBC FC and Boresa FC receiving Silver and bronze Medals respectively.
Zakaria Razak of Samba Boys FC received the best coach award whilst Seidu Wezi-ewe and Seidu Ussif of Boresa and Samba FC received the best Player and Goalkeeper awards.
Present to grace the ceremony were the Sawla-wura representative, DFA Chairman Mr. Rahman and vice Charles Kipo, Sawla View Manager, Mr. Daniel, Adam Natomah Sekerai(Exco-member), Alhassan Mohammed Gomua(Exco member), Stephen Wiafe Quansah (Exco member) .
In a speech to climax the awards night at the Sawla View Lodge, The District Football Association Chairman, Mr. Alhassan Rahman Nyariba thanked the Sawla View Lodge and supporting sponsors for their numerous contributions geared towards igniting the passion for football in the District and called on individuals, groups and organisations to tow the path of Sawla view to help football in the District.
He however, urged all Teams, individuals and groups to patronise the products of Sawla view and help advertise their products through social media and other platforms to attract more customers to enable them to give back to society.
