Master Anuri Abudi, a past pupil of Domogyile R/C JHS in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region has been honoured by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for emerging as the best male performed pupil from the Upper West Region in the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
Master Abudi, was among the 36 awardees honoured by the State as part of activities marking Ghana’s 65th Independence anniversary.
The President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, presented Master Abudi with his award at the ceremony held at Accra International Conference Center on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
He is currently enrolled at Lassia-Tuolu SHS.
His award package includes;one tablet, certificate, a plaque, a medal and several consumable products from Nestle Ghana.
In announcing his sterling achievements, Management of the Wa West Education Directorate expressed heartfelt gratitude to the headteacher, staff of the school parents and guardians for their support in the activities of the School.
“The Wa West Education Directorate under the leadership of Alhaji Alhasaan Sumani also thanked the Wa West District Assembly and staff for facilitating the process including all stakeholders and the general public for their collaborative efforts”, a statement issued by the Directorate stated.
The 2022 President’s Independence Day Awards was under the theme: “Working Together Bouncing Back Better.”
The President’s Independence Day Awards, since its inception in 1993, provides scholarships each year to young brilliant students between the ages of 14 and 19 from all the regions of Ghana.
The awardees are selected based on raw scores obtained at the Basic Certificate Examination (BECE).
