The Paramount Chief of the Kpembe Traditional Area, Kpembewura Dari Bismark Haruna, has appealed to the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to consider the good works done by Hon. Mohammed Tamimu, the failed MCE nominee of the area, and renominate him in his second term.
According to the chief, the MCE performed extremely well in his first term and believes will do even much better for the area if he is maintained.
The chief addressing a presser through Lepowura MND Jawula said the two times failed to be confirmed MCE is the obvious choice of the traditional authorities.
He described the rejection of the MCE nominee by the Assembly Members as unfortunate, ill- motivated and unacceptable and therefore demands an apology from the Assembly.
He maintained that it is a calculated attempt by some architects and their cohorts to perpetrate such a high order of ill motivated agenda despite the fruitful engagements they had with the Assembly Members and stakeholders prior to the second round of the MCE confirmation.
The chief described as disappointing, disrespectful and humiliating to him and by extension the president who has trusted them so much and does that deserve such treatment.
According to him the president should forgive them and reconsider renomiting the MCE if possible impose him on them because he is their obvious choice.
He said he has henceforth cut ties with the Assembly until the right thing is done.

President Akufo-Addo’s nominee for MCE in the Gonja East Municipality, Mohammed Tamimu, has been rejected for the second time .
The nominee polled only nine of the 34 votes cast.
Mohammed Tamimu, who was renominated for a second term was rejected by members of the Assembly in the first round after polling 10 votes out of a total of 34 votes.
He was renominated by the president for a second confirmation but the assembly members again rejected him after polling 9 Yes votes out of a total of 34 votes failing to attain the two- thirds threshold.
