Jaksally Development Organization, an NGO based in Bole in the Savannah Region of Ghana has successfully launched a poverty alleviation project in Tuna.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Gabriel Gbeil Benarkuun President of of CCOD and Lola Group representative in West Africa, noted that they are into partnership with Jaksally Development Organization and the purpose is to help Jaksally to reach out to the numerous women groups, youth and farmers that he has been working with.
Dr. Gabriel mentioned that they have noticed that he has made several impact and Lola Group needed to support the NGO.
“I presented his request to the Lola Group in Turkey and they have granted for him to receive 12 million Dollars in some few months to come to establish VSLA’s branches and the headquarters to be able to support women and youth groups in the eight regions of Ghana starting from the five Northern regions and Bono, Ahafo and Bono East regions he said”
The West Africa representative of Lola Group added that the funding is purely for the community interventions, afforestation, supporting the orphans, supporting the vulnerable children, supporting widows, putting up infrastructures and also commercial activities with specific groups and so Lola Group is happy with the success Jaksally Development Organization has chalked so they will continue to mentor and monitor all that he is going to offer in the next three years.
Speaking to Yagbon news after the official launch of the project, Vivian Terrence Fray, team leader and representing of the Lola Group Chairman, Lola Benkita Francisco, incharge of South Africa and Africa at large said the reason why they are in the Savannah region precisely Tuna in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District is to support Jaksally Development Organization women initiative where the Lola Group has decided to grant 12 million Dollars for the project and hopefully to enhance what ever they are doing in the project to create a better life for women groups, youth and farmers in some eight selected regions of Ghana.
Present at the launch was Jira Kongwura, MP for STK, Sawla DCE and all VSLA’s members across the District.
