The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency Hon. Dari Chiwiitey Andrew has hit back at the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area Hon. Lawal Tamimu over attempts to claim credit for a construction a storm drain project in the district.

Describing the claims of the DCE as erroneous, Hon. Andrew said the construction of the Storm drain at “Kawurbi” section of the Sawla Township was due to his efforts and influence as a member of the Works and Housing Committee of Parliament.

He told Yagbon News how the DCE deliberately refused to write a proposal for the project when he was instructed by the sector minister.

“I reported the DCE to the sector minister over his lukewarm attitude towards the project and I wrote the project proposal with my letter head only for him to award the contract to a party faithful”, said Hon. Andrews.

The MP said, the contract sum of 400,000.00 Ghana Cedis given to the DCE party faithful was poorly commenced which raised a lot of concerns by residents of the area and was halted.

The MP insisted that it was through his lobbying abilities that gave birth to the project and that the DCE cannot claim credit for it.

The DCE for the area, Hon. Lawal Tamimu yesterday cut sod for the same project of which the MP says the due credit was not given to him but was please the project will be properly executed to help ease the issue of choked gutters and flooding of the area.

All attempts to reach the DCE to respond to the issue proved futile.
