
A young politician and entrepreneur, Haruna Aliu Gyibrila , popularly known as Obama,has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Dormaa West Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bono Region, promising to bring energy, discipline, grassroots mobilization, and fresh ideas to the party’s regional administration.
In a statement announcing his bid, Mr. Gyibrila said his decision was driven by “a deep sense of duty, humility, and commitment” to the NDC and its ideals of unity, grassroots empowerment, and progressive leadership.
Born and raised in Nkrankwanta Gyibrila says politics and the values of the NDC party formed an integral part of his upbringing.
Outlining his vision for the Constituency Secretary role, he pledged to improve communication between the national, regional, constituency, and branch levels of the party while promoting transparency, discipline, teamwork, and effective mobilization.

“It is with this track record that I present myself for election to the high office of of the Constituency Secretary,” he stated. “I seek the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to complement leadership in the constituency and help consolidate the gains of the governing NDC while sustaining victory in the constituency in 2028 and beyond.”
Mr. Gyibrila further appealed to delegates and party faithful to support his candidacy, emphasizing that his ambition is rooted in service, responsibility, and commitment to the collective success of the NDC.
His campaign is being championed under the themes “Together let’s build a stronger NDC and deliver victory 2028.”
