Gonjaland Youth Association together with Savannah Regional Minister supports Gonja Community in Greater Accra.

The leadership of GLYA with the support of the Savannah Regional Minister and other individuals today distributed some assorted items which includes 30 bags of rice, Bags of sugar, curtains of tea, curtains of cooking oil, curtains of biscuits amounting to GHC 10,000.00 to the Gonja Community at old fadama in Greater Accra.

In addition to the presentation of the items, the Association also put together a Medical Team to educate the people on the necessary protocols in respect of COVID-19.

According to the National president, Lawyer Alhaji Mohammed Amin Osman, the world at large is in hard times due to the pandemic which is making life extremely difficult for many. “We are here today because most of you survive on what you earn on daily basis and this current situation is making life very tough for everyone but we know that gradually we shall overcome this unfortunate condition.

I want to entreat you all to stay at home, social distancing is key and make sure you wash your hands routinely.

Let us not see the lockdown as a punishment but it is meant to protect us from the spread of the virus. I entreat you all to observe the necessary protocals and do well to stay at home” Lawyer added.

The Hon. Regional Minister, for Savannah Region, Mr. Salifu Braimah (MP) also called on the people of Savannah Region to reach out to our brothers and sisters who happens to find themselves in such communities.

He assured the people of the government’s support in addressing all the problems that may arise as a result of the lockdown.

The leadership of the Greater Accra Branch and Samere Branch of GLYA, the National Treasurer Alhaji Ibrahim Ishaq were part of the entourage that submitted the items.

The president of the Republic, Nana Akufo Addo declared fourteen days partial lock down of parts of Accra and Ashanti Region as a way of controlling the spread of Covid -19.
