Fulani man arrested for inflicting cutlass wounds on a farmer.

A Fulani man who stays at Nokoiyiri has been arrested by the Police in Bole for allegedly inflicting deep cutlass wounds on the body of a 28-year-old farmer Mr Bunyer Peter who is a resident of Gbogdaa in the Bole District.

The former Assemblyman for the Doli Electoral Area Hon.Paul Jorobon, narrating the incident to Yagbon News stated that the victim Bunyer Peter, was at his farm yesterday May, 11, 2021, plucking “dawadawa” fruit when the Fulani man with his cattle appeared in the farm.

According to the former Assembly Member, the victim asked the Fulani man to move out from his farm which has been invaded by the cattle of which he refused.

“The farmer then tried to drive away the animals which the Fulani man resisted the act and started slashing almost every part of the young farmer and bolted away after the act” Hon Paul told Yagbon News.

The youth of the Gbogdaa community mounted pressure on one of the Fulani leader whom was believe to be the master of the one that committed the criminal act.

The arrest of the Fulani leader subsequently led to his arrest from a hide out.

He is currently at Bole Police station assisting in investigations while the victim is responding to treatment at the Bole District hospital.

The issue of Fulani herdsmen destroying farms of in the Savannah is on the rise which some youth are threatening to quit farming if the situation is not checked.
