The Communication Director of the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Mr Mujahid Gilbert, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote massively for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become the party’s Presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.
The governing party will hold its Presidential delegates’ election on Saturday, November 04, 2023.
Speaking to Yagbon News ahead of the contest on Saturday Gilbert said the economist stands tall among the candidates eyeing the highest office of the land.
The Communication Director said the Former Deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana is the only candidate who can help the party remain in power and to continue with the good works of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr Gilbert said that Bawumia has discharged his duties diligently and has sacrificed for the party, therefore the delegates must reward him by voting massively for him on November 04, 2023.
“Dr Bawumia is the best person to lead the NPP to cross the Red Sea and also ‘break the 8’ in the history of Ghana politics”, he said.
He gave assurance that delegates from the Savannah Region are solidly behind Bawumia and he is optimistic that the Vice President can obtain about 95% from the Savannah Region.
Dr. Bawumia is in the contest with three other candidates including MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong, Former Agriculture Minister Afriyie Akoto and Addai Nimoh.
The winner will face off with former president John Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general elections scheduled for 7 December 2024.
