A polling station secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Donwaazum Benjamin has dropped a strong hint that he will stand for his party’s Youth Organizer position next year.

Donwaazum Benjamin has been a key personality in youth development.

He started his primary education at Jelinkon a farming community under the Sawla Tuna Kalba District, haven completed his primary in a village where there was no Junior high school he proceeded to St. Augstine’s Junior High School in Sawla.

After successfully passing his BECE he proceeded to Damongo Senior High School for his secondary education.

After obtaining a WASSCE certificate he continued to E.P college of education, Bimbilla and acquired Diploma in Basic Education.

He was posted to kalba D/A primary school where he taught for four years and was granted study leave to further his education.

He is currently studying Bsc Information Technology Education at the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus.

With a solid track record in politics as well, the polling station secretary has used both aspects of his background to appeal to voters and mobilise support for the party since joining the party.

According to him, the NPP will need to consolidate its gains and will therefore, need a successful youth mobiliser to understand how to get the numbers for the party in its quest to break the eight-year power alteration in the country.

Benjamin said he is aware that the NPP in the constituency could count on his ability to connect with younger voters to increase the party’s appeal to the masses.

As a responsible young politician, he stated that he speaks the language of people in the markets and lorry stations, not just the business elites.
