Nasco Feeding Minds, an NGO based in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba which focusses on promoting computer literacy in the area has rolled out an initiative dubbed Nasco Climate Advocacy Program.

The initiative by Nasco Feeding Minds is to promotes sustainable and scalable climate action in Ghana.

Nasco firmly believes in instilling environmentally friendly habits and lifestyles from an early age.

Nasco recognizes that socialisation and re-socialisation play pivotal roles in reducing carbon emissions. Through our Nasco Climate Advocacy Program, we have established the “Mundo Verde Club,” a student-focused environmental sustainability club which updates students on global climate news and encourages them to become climate advocates.

The innovative “Fruits for Education” project engages students in climate action by planting fruit trees, whose proceeds are used for maintaining ICT centres. In addition, Nasco collaborates with communities to restore groves and forests and combat desertification in the Savannah Region.

With support from the ERM Foundation, Nasco has added 250 trees and planted 400 seedlings to its afforestation initiatives.

By supporting the Nasco Climate Advocacy Program, companies can actively participate in mitigating climate change and protecting the environment, ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.

The Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds, Mr Nuhu Seidu Banasco, is a resident of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in the Savannah Region has since been hailed by a lot of residents in the area for his significant role in promoting computer literacy in the District.

He has constructed a good number of ICT laboratories and centres for students in the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District and beyond.
