The Miss Gonja of the Miss Musilimah Ghana 2020, Adams Latifa, in the Bole District of the Savannah Region, has cautioned the Muslim youths especially the females to be circumspect about their modes of dressing.
Adams Latifa who hails from Bole and a student at University for Development Studies(UDS-Tamale) was crowned Miss Gonja at the end of the Miss Musilimah Ghana 2020 Competition, gave the advise to the Muslim youths when she was welcomed by the Chiefs and people on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
In an interview with Yagbon news, Adams Latifa (Miss Gonja) said ” as a Muslim lady you need to be modest and fashionable in your appearance and you must not necessarily dress half naked to be complimented as a beautiful lady”.
She noted that nothing comes easy in life despite her award, she admonished all females to take their religious and their academic studies seriously and be prayerful in all what they do and trust in Allah.
She further thanked the organisers of MMG’20, her parents, Bolewura, the chief Imam, the media and the people of Bole for their massive support during the competition till the end and dedicated her crown to the people of Bole because she believes it was out of their support that she earned it .
She presented a citation to the Bolewura Sarfo Kutege Feso(I) for his massive support and contribution through out the competition.
Mr. Haruna Abdulai Obey, who is the Secretary to the Bole Traditional Council and the representative of the Bolewura during the occasion received the citation on behalf of the Bolewura.
Speaking on behalf of the Bolewura, Mr. Haruna Abdulai Obey noted that Adams Latifa (Miss Gonja) isn’t just a great lady but very grateful for acknowledging the contribution of the Bole Traditional Council chaired by Bolewura Sarfo Kutege Feso (I) during her competition.
He admonished other females in the Bole District and Savannah Region to take clue from her success and dress and behave responsibly since the Bole Traditional Council is ever ready to rally it’s support behind anyone who is poised for success in life.
Gracing the occasion, Miss Alidu Hawa who is the CEO of Miss Musilimah Ghana disclosed that the motivation behind her initiave is that she feels the Muslim communities popularly known as Zongos are deprived therefore, she believes this platform offers all Muslims the opportunity to learn their religion better.
She added that her platform is prepared to assist all Muslims in activities that will contribute to the development of “Zongos” and make life better for all Muslims around the globe.
She therefore thanked the Bolewura, the chief Imam and the people of Bole for the extraordinary reception offered to their team and she hopes to host many other girls from Bole and the Savannah Region in the next episode of the Miss Musilimah Ghana competition.
