Miss Gonja, Adams Latifa, with support from Miss Musilimah Ghana has organised skills training exercise for women in the Bole District of the Savannah Region on Tuesday, 5th January, 2021 to economically empower them.
The event which took place at the Bole community center had in attendance of over 50 women who came both from far and near within the Bole District.
Adams Latifa (Miss Gonja) who spearheaded the activity told Yagbon News in an interview that it is her own initiative to train the women with the hope of reducing the poverty level in the area.
“We use to travel very far to purchase detergents which during this covid-19 era increased in demand but through this training exercise women from Bole wouldn’t have to travel in order to purchase such items but can now sit in the comfort of their homes and prepare it for themselves and this will also serve as a business opportunity to the unemployed especially those who will take it very seriously” she said.
Adams Latifa who was crown “Miss Gonja” at the end of the Miss Musilimah Ghana 2020 contest, a lady in the prime of her youth, noted that one necessarily must not reach any acclaimed height before contributing to the development of Ghana but in one’s own small way and with little support we can all help develop Ghana.
She therefore encouraged all those who took part in either of the activities which included soap making, air fresheners, hand sanitizers among a host of others to take up these activities if not for commercial purposes but to their personal benefit.
Miss Hawa Alidu who is the CEO of Miss Musilimah Ghana called on the people of Bole to support Adams Latifa in her project which concentrates on female education such that Bole can produce the next cohort of beautiful and intelligent ladies for the various beauty and educational contests in the country.
She thanked all those who took time to partake in this all important but free activity and admonished females within the district to rise to the occasion and help in the development of Bole and the Savannah Region as a whole.
Adams Fadila, a participant who went through the skills training thanked the CEO of Miss Musilimah Ghana, Adams Latifa (Miss Gonja) and the team for taking them through the skill training exercise as she believes the training will offer new opportunities to them as women.
