The Chief Executive Officer of Nasco Feeding Minds,Hon.Banasco Seidu Nuhu, has appealed for calm and restraint following the disturbances in Gindabour that led to the death of a teacher and a police officer.
In a statement, he indicated that the reported events in Gindabuo, in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, are deeply troubling and demand an urgent, impartial and thorough investigation.
With the reported deaths of a teacher and a police officer, the priority must be to establish the facts surrounding both deaths and ensure that anyone found responsible is held accountable through due process.
The families and the wider community deserve the truth and justice,he said.
“I therefore appeal to the Government, particularly the Minister for the Interior, the Inspector-General of Police, the Regional Minister, and the District Chief Executive to take immediate steps to restore calm and protect residents and their property”, Banasco noted.
He stressed that as law enforcement officers entrusted with protecting lives and maintaining public order, the police must exercise professionalism, restraint and respect for the law at all times.
Any reported acts of retaliation, assault or destruction of property must cease, and the people of Gindabuo must be afforded the protection and dignity they deserve,he said.
