A planned demonstration by the Arise Bole Youth , to press home their demand concerning the MCE nominee for Bole has been suspended after engaging in an intensive consultation with various stakeholders within the area.

The decision to suspend the intended demonstration according to a press statement by the youth group has been taken after a careful reflection and in utmost deference to the appeals and wise counsel by emminent individuals and institutions.

Such individuals and institutions they said included His Royal Majesty, the Bole wura, the Council of State representative for the Savannah region, leadership of the Gonjaland Youth Association, the Savannah regional chairman of the NDC and the broader NDC party.

“We therefore urge all our members, supporters, and the general public to remain calm, law abiding, and cooperative as peaceful consultations continue” the press statement added.

The youth further reaffirmed its readiness

to engage in any legitimate process that seeks to promote unity, transparency, and inclusive development within the Bole Municipality.

Meanwhile ,a letter from the Bole District Assembly which has been copied to Yagbon radio has indicated that a meeting that has been scheduled on Wednesday,May 07 ,2025 to confirm the the President’s nominee Mr Abdulai Mahmud has been postponed .

The reason according to the Bole District Assembly is to create ample space for further engagement with the agitated youth of Bole who have presented a petition against the nomination of the nominee.

This act of the youth has created tension in Bole town and its environs, the Assembly’s letter stated.

New date for confirmation will be communicated to you as soon as the engagement is completed, according to the Bole District Assembly.

The Bole District Assembly, however apologized to Honourable Assembly Members, chiefs, the clergy and the general public for any inconvenience this might have caused.
