The Savannah Regional House of Chiefs has formed a three member interim committee to see to the renovating of a rented apartment for the House of Chiefs at Damongo.
The members include Mankpanwura Jakpa Achor-Ade Borenyi (l) as the chairman, Kusawguwura Alhassan Soale Bunyanso(l) as a member, Benkromwura saaka seidu spokesperson of the king of Gonjaland as a member and registrar of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs Mr Abutu Kapuori as the secretary.
This was announced by Buipewura Jinapor ll, Vice president of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs when he led a team of chief on behalf of the Yagbonwura Bii Kunuto Jawu Soale I to inspect the facility.
The Vice President said it has become necessary for the House of Chiefs as a resulting pitching any time they have meetings despite the importance of the chiefs in the development of the region
According Buipewura the committee is expected to take care of the renovation works for temporary use by the Chiefs.
The Vice President said it was Yagbonwura Tutunba Bore-Esssa (l)who started the initiative and dreamt to see the the completion of the facility before his demise but time and age could not be at his mercy adding that the Yagbonwura Bii Kunuto took it from where he ended to seal the deal.
Buipewura said the current project is funded by Yagbonwura for a period of two years which is subjected to renewal.
Buipewura therefore on behalf of Yagbonwura appeal to the media, business men in and outside Savannah region, NGO’S among others to support the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs to raise a permanent building for the Chiefs in the Savannah region.
The facility has 7 rooms and a hall which shall be used as offices and a sitting place for all meetings of the House.
