Akufo-Addo names Saeed Muhazu Jibril as Savannah Regional Minister.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Saeed Muhazu Jibril, as the Savannah Regional Minister-designate.

Announcing his Regional Ministerial nominees on Thursday, January 21, 2021, the President also named George Boakye as minister-designate for Ahafo region and Simon Osei Mensah as the Ashanti Regional minister designate for the second time.

Justina Owusu Banahene is the new minister-designate for the Bono region while Adu Gyan is the Bono-East regional minister-designate.

Hon. Henry Quartey, is also the new Greater Accra Minister-designate.

The rest are Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, Upper West region, Seth Acheampong for the Eastern region, Stephen Yakubu for the Upper East and Dr. Archibald Letsa is the Volta regional minister-designate, Yidana Zakaria, for the North- East region, Justina Marigold Assan for the Central region, Joseph Makubu, as Oti regional minister designate, Shani Alhassan Saibu for the Northern region, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah for the Western region as Richard Obeng as the Western- North regional minister designate.

In a press statement by the Acting Director of Communications Office of the President, Mr Eugene Arhin, said that seven ministries were abolished “because virtually all these special-purpose Ministries have achieved the purposes for which they were established.”

According to the statement signed by Mr Eugene Arhin, in all, President Akufo-Addo has appointed a total of 30 Ministers, and 16 Regional Ministers, bringing the total number of Ministers to 46.

The statement on Thursday also said out of the 46, eight are women – six Ministers and two Regional Ministers.
