Hundreds of women from Jentilpe and Nasolyir of the Jentilpe Electoral Area in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District have benefitted from a one-day skill training to enable them to set up their own businesses.

The training was organized by the Assembly Member of the area,Hon.Tobo Domobala Jacob to equip the women with skills in the production of liquid soap.

The training, according to the Assembly man forms part of his objective of building the capacity of women and equipping them with entrepreneurial skills to improve their standards of living.

Speaking on the sidelines of the program, the Assembly man expressed satisfaction with the program and noted with confidence that the participants have been impacted with enough knowledge and skill to improve their lives.

He said “We trained them on liquid soap making and I believe it will help them become self-reliant and improve their lives. We are looking at a better community to improve the standard of living. We want to have more job opportunities within the area.

Our next step is to help them in bread production, pig production ,proper farming methods, waste management and yogurt production,he told Yagbon News in an interview.

The trainees were grateful for the opportunity, noting that they have been blessed with skills that will help them establish their own businesses.

“I have learnt a lot from this. With the liquid soap, if you buy the materials, it will help us produce the soap, sell and get something to take care of our families.

He has helped us in various ways and it has really helped. I believe it will help me and my family,” a beneficiary noted.

“It’s a nice event and I want to thank the Assemblyman. Not everyone will do this for you so I took it seriously. I have learnt a lot that I believe will be better,” another trainee stressed.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman had earlier on renewed over 30 aged NHIS cards free of charge.

Jorbiryiri, a community within the Jentilpe Electoral Area is also set to benefit from the liquid soap making, the Assemblyman noted.
