Final year Senior High School (SHS) students preparing to write the West African Senior High Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are to spend 11weeks in school with a maximum of 30 students in a class, the Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools has said.

This forms part of the measures put in place by the GES against the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) as schools re-opens on Monday, June 22.

Consequently, the CHASS has advised parents to prepare their children adequately before coming to school.

In a statement issued by the CHASS in Northern, North- East and Savannah Regions said schools re-open for all SHS 3 and SHS 2 Gold Track students on Monday, 22nd June, 2020.

By the statement parents bringing their wards to school must be on facemasks including their wards.

The stament added that no food vendors will be allowed to sell outside the campus of schools, students who breaks bounds will be sent back to their parents and would be allowed only to enter the school to write their exams.

In furtherance, all day students in boarding schools must report as boarding students, such students must come along with basic boarding school items such as mattresses, bedsheets, drinking cup, buckets among others.

Reporting time is from morning to 5:30pm. No student should report to school after 5:30pm on any day, the statement added.

As part of the measures, the CHASS indicated that students would go through enhanced routine protocols before being allowed entry into their dormitories.

The statement stressed that there will be no mass gathering, no religious activities, no sporting activities and no visitors during school hours.
