A new born baby who was deserted by its mother minutes after its birth in an uncompleted building has been discovered by residents at Sawla in Savannah Region.

The uncompleted where the new born baby was discovered is located in between Kupiiyiri and Sansateng in the Kawurbi Electoral Area of the Sawla -Tuna Kalba District.

Blood stains on the floor and the unblical cord still attached to the baby at the time of the rescue suggest that the baby was birthed in the same building after which the mother bolted, leaving the baby to its fate.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Yagbon News, the abandoned baby was discovered when a resident, who went to free himself, heard the faint cries of the baby.

The witness followed the sound and, to his astonishment, discovered the newborn alive in the uncompleted building.

The eyewitness immediately alerted the Assembly member and nearby residents, who came together to assist in the rescue effort.

The baby was swiftly transported to the Sawla District Hospital, where he is receiving medical care and treatment.

The Assemblyman for the Kawurbi Electoral Area,Hon.Abdulai Mohammed, confirmed to Yagbon News that an investigation is underway to locate the baby’s mother.
