Personal Profile – Dr. Banmarigu Simon
Dr. Banmarigu Simon, the son of Reverend John Punnya Banmarigu (of blessed memory) and Madam Memuna Rachel Tidow, is a distinguished personality whose journey from humble beginnings to remarkable accomplishments in education and ministry is truly inspiring.
Education
Dr. Banmarigu began his early education at Tinguri Primary School and Yama Primary School. After completing Primary Six at Tinguri, he advanced to Pope John’s Junior High School and later continued at Walewale Senior High School.
His pursuit of spiritual and academic excellence led him to the Calvary Chapel Bible Training Center in Amedzofe, Volta Region. After years of ministry service, he furthered his academic journey:
Tamale Polytechnic – Diploma in Business Studies & Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting
Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) – Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting
College for Community and Organizational Development (CCOD), Sunyani – Advanced studies in leadership and community development
Cornerstone University & Theological Seminary, USA – Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Divinity. His thesis, “Prison to Jail: The Low-Esteemed Servant of God,” explored themes of faith, humility, and resilience.
Leadership & Ministry
Dr. Banmarigu currently serves as the National Youth Organizer of the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF), where he is dedicated to empowering young people in agriculture and advancing rural livelihoods.
He is also the Head Pastor of Restoration Church, headquartered in Gbimsi, with several branches across the North-East Region of Ghana.
Through his ministry, he continues to inspire and mentor individuals, particularly in rural communities, toward spiritual growth and socio-economic empowerment.
