Members and supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC have been reminded of the need to continue the hard work to ensure victory for the party come 2024 in the general elections.
Leadership that emerged victorious from the recently held party’s internal elections have also been charged to ensure there is unity and peaceful cohesion to ensure the party stay united and focus to face its contenders.
The newly elected Vice Chairman for the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency, Mr Mahama Zakaria, son of Kasan wurche Veronica Adjara Bukari in an interview with Yagbon News, insisted the NDC can win the 2024 elections with a united force and that must be the party’s major priority.
He said the current Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party’s abysmal performance has left Ghanaians with no option but to rely on the NDC which is known for its social development-centred approach to governance.
“As we speak now, Ghanaians are fed up with the Akufo-Addo and the NPP so we the NDC has to ensure our actions and policy alternatives sound good tunes in the minds of all. We cannot allow petty squabbles and issues to have any effect on our bright chances of ascending onto power in January 2025” Mr Zakaria advised.
“I am very grateful to the Almighty God for the gift of life and the successful victory for the entire Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NDC. There is no loser, nor winner, we are all victors for our great party”.
He also expressed gratitude to all the delegates,the party executives and all his supporters for the massive support he received during the elections.
He therefore called on all the Executive Committee and party faithfuls to remain resolute and work together in oneness to ensure the NDC recaptures political power from the ruling NPP.
After all, we are the solution to the plight of Ghanaians. Let us all be united as never before and vigorously work towards the common goal of the National Democratic Congress, he said.
Mr Mahama Zakaria was on Saturday October 22, 2022, elected as Vice Chairman of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency NDC after he polled 554 votes to beat his only contender Mr Farouk Abubakari who obtained 439 votes.
